DIAL (Disability Information and Advice Line), is supported by Scope, and is a national network of 120 disability advice centres run by and for disabled people.

DIAL information and advice services are based throughout the UK and provide information and advice to disabled people and others on all aspects of living with a disability. Information and advice are usually available on:
- welfare benefits
- community care 
- equipment 
- independent living 
- mobility and transport 
- discrimination 
- holidays.

Call the National Scope helpline free on 0808 800 33 33, and they will direct you to support available in your local area.

This is Andy who is a new member of the team helping the secretaries. He is the one who took all the photographs (!)

DLA to PIP and Warrington Disability Awareness Day


The emigration from DLA to PIP for long-term and indefinite awards is going to start happening from July 13th 2014 for postcodes starting with BB. This has been brought forward as the original date was going to be October and DWP was going to start with fixed term awards first instead.

WARRINGTON’S world famous Disability Awareness Day was the first of its kind in the UK when it was launched way back in the summer of 1991.

Now, 24 years later, the FREE annual event has gone on to become widely regarded as the best DAD in the world – attracting more than half a million visitors to Walton Hall Gardens.
